Obituary of Stephanie Lynn Gerrior

 

Stephanie Lynn “Steph” Gerrior, 42, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax, surrounded by the love of her family.

 

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Edward Joseph Gerrior and Glenda Faye (MacKean) Gerrior. Steph graduated from the former East Pictou Rural High School in 2000. Following she attended the Culinary Institute of Canada at Holland College, Charlottetown, PEI, graduating with a Culinary Arts degree. Following she worked at several restaurants in Pictou County, a career she thoroughly enjoyed. In spite of developing renal failure due to diabetes in her mid thirties she never lost her zest for life, Steph lived each day to the fullest. Steph “had a big heart” for animals and spent many enjoyable hours with her feline friend Patches. She had a charismatic personality and cunning sense of humor. Steph’s musical preferences were Rap (Merkules) and Alternative Rock groups. She was a talented guitar player, who very much enjoyed playing a variety of genres. Steph will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted, sister, niece, cousin and friend.

   

Surviving are her sister, Amanda Gerrior, Frasers Mountain; uncles, Vaughan MacKean, New Glasgow; Richard McCulloch, Green Hill; cousins, Sheri (Chris) McCulloch – Dietrich, and their children, Kaylee, Jayden and Elle, Halifax; Mark McCulloch, Halifax; Darren (Leigh) MacKean, and their children, Jake and Zack, MacLellan’s Mountain; Duane (Brenda) MacKean, and their children, Brayden and Tyler, Grande Prairie; “like sisters”, Amanda Taylor-Carr, New Glasgow; Jennifer Fraser-Gillis, Pine Tree.

   

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Walter and Margaret (Hill) MacKean; paternal grandparents, Edward and Alma (Misner) Gerrior; aunt, Eleanor (Gerrior) McCulloch; Uncle, Alexander “Sandy” MacKean; and many other cherished relatives.

 

In honor of Stephanie’s wishes her body has been donated to medical science so others may be helped. 

 

Donations may be made in memory of Stephanie to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Pictou County SCPA.
