Obituary of Frank William MacCulloch
Frank William MacCulloch, 71, Little Harbour, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Antigonish, he was the son of the late William Frank and Alice Marie (Cameron) MacCulloch. Frank graduated from Sherbrooke High School before attending the former Pictou Regional Vocational School, Stellarton, where he earned a certificate in Motor Vehicle Repair in 1974. After working for several employers, Frank became an entrepreneur working in his fathers-in-law’s home garage before opening MacCulloch’s Truck Services in 1982. The business eventually grew into one of Atlantic Canada’s largest independent heavy duty truck repair shops, also offering towing and recovery services, which was Frank’s true passion. Through his business, Frank established numerous friendships with employees, customers and suppliers, who became a second family.
While Frank worked hard to establish a successful business, he always put his family first. Frank was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and strived to never miss watching them play on TV. He enjoyed listening to country music and going for Sunday drives with Wendy in their Ford Mustang. Frank leaves a legacy of hard work, loyalty and love of family.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Wendy (MacDonald) MacCulloch; daughter, Melanie (Ryan) Williams; Ottawa; son, Christopher (Zuzana) MacCulloch; Calgary; grandchildren; Jack, Emily, Thomas and Charlotte; step-granddaughter, Gwenyth; sisters, Susan MacCulloch (Peter Koltek), Goshen; Ardith MacCulloch (Colin Wood), Stellarton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his faithful, four-legged companion, Rusty.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 20 and from 12 – 12:50 p.m. Saturday December 21 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel at P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Castle Hill Cemetery, McLellans Brook.
Frank’s family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital Chemo Clinic and Palliative Care Unit staff for the excellent care received.
