Obituary of Eric Kirkwood
Eric Kirkwood, 65, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 6, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in England, he was a son of the late Alan Peter Kirkwood and Rachel Campbell (Carr) Kirkwood. Moving with his family to Burnaby, B.C, he worked as a professional musician (bass and keyboard player) touring all over the United States with an impressive array of bands including the World Famous Coasters, the Platters, Slice of Life and Bobby Freeman out of Los Angles. Upon return to Vancouver, B.C., he was the bassist and keyboardist for The Junior Rocket Scientists (1990-1991) and played with many other bands before moving to New Glasgow several years ago.
Surviving are his brother, Alan, Victoria, B.C.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Ian.
Eric has been laid to rest in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow.
