Obituary of Alan Richard Patton
LINACY – Alan Richard “Allie” Patton, 63, Linacy, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 2, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Douglas Guynmour and Nellie Ellen (Clark) Patton. Allie operated Patton’s Auto Salvage in Linacy for many years. He enjoyed driving around the county in his tow truck, the “ground pounder”, hauling cars and wrecks. Allie was a very sociable person who enjoyed good times with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed vacationing in Country Harbour and going to yard sales with his sister, Joy. Allie will be missed by all those he loved.
Surviving are his children, Vernon Patton, Grand Manan, N.B.; Beth Ann Patton (Ben Russell) and their children, Chandler and Salem, St. John, N.B.; sister, Joy Patton (Ron Quinn), Churchville; niece, Cindy (Donna); nephew, Edward “Eddie” (Alana); grandnieces, Alyson “Aly” and Katherine Hope; sisters-in-law, Lynda Patton, Spruce Grove, Alta. and Yvonne Watson, Innis Court, Ont.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Angeline in infancy; brothers, Douglas R., Vernon F. and Wayne G.; brother-in-law, Ed Urquhart.
A private graveside service will be held.
Allie appreciated his many good friends, especially Alan Roberts, who was his collecting buddy and a pillar of support throughout his illness. Bertha, for her constant supply of the delicious food she prepared for him. Neighbour, Dan Carrigan, who was a great friend and support throughout the years.
