So sorry to hear of Uncle Raye's passing. Sending our deepest sympathies. Many of my happiest weekends growing up was when my family traveled to Barneys's River to visit Uncle Raye, Aunt Doreen, and my cousins. My uncle was a quiet but lovely man and always made you feel at home. When we did visit, he always made sure us kids were entertained whether we were pulling carrots out of the garden or taking us for horse rides around the property line. I loved their home and all the rooms that I could play in. Anytime he traveled to Halifax on his own he would always stop into my dads garage where they would sit and talk for hours. Uncle Raye liked to talk and shared a lot of great stories. These wonderful memories will stay near to my heart. Rest in peace, Uncle Raye.... as you were. xo

So sorry for your loss. Only met Raye in the Aberdeen as my husband was in the other bed in his room. They were just getting ready to transfer my husband to Fredericton when Raye started having trouble breathing. the nurse came in and gave him his puffers. Then he was sitting on the side of the bed. He was very bad so I asked if he needed help and he said yes. I went right out to the desk and got nurse. So shocked to hear he had passed. We were just getting in elevator when I heard the Code Blue called. Deepest sympathy to your family. He seemed like a lovely gentleman for the short time I new him.

I sincerely extend my condolences to Raye Jr, Paul, Barry and their families; and Raye Sr's brother Reginald. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad time. Raye was my favorite brother in law and I will always cherish the many happy moments that we shared together. Raye was a kind man, always a gentleman and a fun & gracious host. Rest in peace my friend. God bless.

I'm just a traveler passing thru Nova Scotia and wanted to pass on my deepest sympathies for your family. In times of sadness and stress the Bible has always been a source of comfort to me. It was mentioned how Raye loved to build and the Bible promises "that there is going to be a Resurrection" (Acts 24:15) to a beautiful paradise where "they will build houses and live in them" (Isaiah 65:21). When Raye is resurrected, it will be so great to have his expertise! Though his loss is painful now, imagining that future time helps to soften the blow. (you can get more information about the bibles promises at https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-study/gods-promises-for-humans/)

We are all deeply saddened with the news of Uncle Raye's passing. May he rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with Raye Jr, Paul and Barry, their families and with all of Uncle Raye's friends. Uncle Raye was a wonderful man and will always live in our hearts. I have vivid childhood memories of the many summers that I was fortunate to spend up at Uncle Raye and Aunt Doreen's. Their home was always open to everyone. Thank you for these wonderful memories. God Bless.
