To Earls family Sincere condolences on your loss ! Actually we all lost something when he crossed over, a friend, a co worker, an independent thinker, a philosopher, and sometimes an inspiration. Earl and I go back 68 years or so when we went to the one room school in Avondale. As life went on, we didnt travel in the same circles, but always kept in touch. I always called him on his birthday and was looking forward to this year. Earl was always in my daily prayers, although he made no secret that they wouldnt help, as he wasnt "going anywhere" when he died, other than in the ground. I told him recently at Tim's, that we would put on his headstone, "Here lies Earl, all dressed up, no where to go", to which he replied by quoting the Invictus poem, with the final lines being " I am the Captain of my soul, the master of my ship " ! Earl started working around the age of 10, meeting the mail train, and retrieving the mail for the post office. He kept right on working until the end. Rest in peace Earl, you were one of a kind. David

Jeannie, girls and families My dad (Bill Muirhead) worked for Earl many years ago..oh the stories. Both had a strong work ethic which Earl was very appreciated of and acknowledged. Dad and mom would frequently talk about Jeannie and her importance to Earls success. As kids we were in total awe with Earl, especially my brother. Earl treated him like a son.Teaching him how to drive a tractor at the age of 16 and eventually getting his class 1 as soon as it was possible. And allowing him to drive his corvette at 16. Earl was a legend in his own time to many.So I hope he finds my dad, they grab a coffee ,talk about the old days and take a drive on that golden highway ...Keep on trucking and Roll on With heart felt sympathy Barbie ((Muirhead) Young

Dear Jeannie, Debbie, Shauna and family. My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your witty, adventurous and brilliant Earl. I have great memories going back as far as high school of Earl and Jeannie. Earl taught me to drive a standard before I was old enough to drive. I will always remember his kindness to my daughter and I in later years . He will be fondly remembered and missed by many.

So saddened to hear of Earl’s passing. Earl was my 2nd cousin although I haven’t seen him in almost 40 years. My mother always spoke of him when we were home in Pictou County. Since moving back in 2012, I wondered about Earl often. Earl was a character when I was growing up. 10years my senior, I always was interested in what he was up to. Passing on the sincerest of condolences for the extended family. Our thoughts are with you. Ian and Cheryl Fraser

To Jeannie and family. I have a lot of memories of my time working for Germain and Williams. Some good and some very “interesting” . I can without any doubt say that Earl in his own special way was a big influence on my life . I have at many times reflected on my time working for him and the lessons he taught me . He will be surely missed. Condolences from myself and my wife Linda .

Condolences to Earl's daughters Shauna, Debbie, grand daughters Ashlee, and Alicia, sd well as exwife and forever friend Jeannie. Although Earle and I didnt get to see one another much, I know he loved and cherished each one of you. His eyes would have that special look when he talked about Shauna and Debbie. The proud grandfather look was even brighter...as a hard worker he appreciated knowing he passed that gene to his grand daughters. Miss and love him rest easy brother, Ivy
