Obituary of Cheryl Susan Campbell

PICTOU LANDING – Cheryl Susan Campbell, 56, Pictou Landing, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at home. Born in Berwick, on August 10, 1953, she was a daughter of Kenneth Hilborn Benson, Ottawa and the late Joyce Pauline (Hepburn) Kelly. Cheryl spent much of her career as a researcher for addiction services, facilitating school outreach and drug awareness programs. Prior to her illness, she was a freelance consultant. Cheryl enjoyed spending time at the “Enchanted Pines”, traveling, laughter and spending time with friends. To those she championed, she will be ever remembered as a compassionate and reliable friend. She was a loving mother, who was very proud of her children’s accomplishments. Surviving besides her father are children, Jonathan, Halifax; Terry (Janis), St. John’s, Nfld.; Briona (Jonathan Thibodeau), Halifax; companion, Nelson Walker; step-father, John Kelly, Antigonish; sister, Debbie, Bridgewater; brother, Archie, Ottawa; niece, Andrea, Bridgewater; nephews, Nigel and William, Ottawa. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, John Kenneth Campbell. A private celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held for immediate family and invited guests at the “Enchanted Pines”.
