Mr. MacNeill was one of the greatest teachers I was fortunate enough to have. He had a smile that lit up the classroom. His humour and humanity will be forever remembered. Any time I speak of my high school days his name always comes up. Thank you Mr. MacNeill.

Janice,Andrew and Kara and Family Sincerre condolences on Elmers passing. Elmer will long be remembered as our summer neighbour from the cottage in Seafoam. Not only a neighbour but a friend who was always there to lend a hand and there were many needed at a cottage. He spoke fondly of his teaching years and his students. Always did a walk around in the winter to assure the cottages were ok and was quick to let folks know he had visited theirs. Remembering the good years at Seafoam. Fondly Remembered Alan&Mona Ellis

Love and condolences to you all. I was in Mr. Neill’s home room class, when he joined St.Mary’s Rural High in Sherbrooke. I remember the first day he walked around the classroom telling us about himself and what would be expected of us. He was always pleasant and warm to his students. He also was our Driver Ed teacher. Which I can still remember lessons he taught us. So sorry for your loss, he was a wonderful teacher and mentor ❤️ Jenny Lynn Morrison Gunn

Mr. MacNeil taught me science at Stellarton Junior High School for grades 7 and 8 in the mid eighties! He was a great teacher, and took a real interest and care in his students! I’ll never forget his smile! There are some people who are naturally great teachers, and are never forgotten. He was one of them. My condolences to the family.

I am a former Westville High student of Mr. MacNeill. He taught me chemistry. I had graduated in 1994 but I returned to upgrade my marks. He was instrumental in my success at chemistry. He made science fun and interesting. I always felt that he cared about me and my educational goals. Over the years I have often thought about him and wondered where he was and how he was doing. He was the kind of teacher that makes an impression on his students that lasts a lifetime. I am genuinely sorry for your loss, I pray the beautiful legacy that he imparted on the hundreds of students that were lucky enough to have Mr. MacNeill as a mentor and teacher will ease your grief at this very difficult time.

Janice & Family, Sending sincere condolences on the loss of Elmer. Mr. MacNeill taught me at WHS, and upon leaving high school he continued to be a positive mentor for me throughout post-secondary, and beyond into my teaching years. He always offered great advice and guidance, and kept things light through enjoyable hockey discussions and making fun of the rival team. Elmer often told beautiful stories of you and your family, whom he always kept so dear at heart. His laughter and zest for life was contagious, and certainly left an imprint on countless individuals. Sincere sympathies, Rachael
