NEW GLASGOW – Kevin James Cooney, 61, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his family and friends. While working in Equator, he rescued a baby ocelot, whom he named, Ozzie and raised until two years old. Kevin appreciated nature and all it contained, especially a love of animals. Until his passing, he was always accompanied by his canine companion, Storm. Surviving are his sister, Lee-Ann Grant (Mike Brown), Quispamsis, N.B.; step-father, Rev. Hayward Baker, Dartmouth; aunt, Robin MacNeil-Ward, New Glasgow; many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by several aunts and uncles.
