To All Family Members : It is with much sadness that I read of Lois's passing. I knew Lois as a young teenager when my late husband, Roger Matheson and I lived in a mobile home on the MacLellan property while I taught at the Linacy School and Roger taught at East Pictou. Lois's parents and siblings were always so kind and helpful to us. In recent years, quite by accident, I met Lois at the Eastside Family Restaurant in New Glasgow while I was in East River St. Mary's for the summer. We had a great time taking a few minutes to catch up on news in LInacy. This happened a few times and it was wonderful to talk to her again. She was a great person and I will truly miss her. Dawn

A great lady with the biggest heart ever...she loved every student she worked with and gave selfishly of herself...buying out of her pocket whatever a student may need...food, clothing etc. I truly loved working with her...she will be missed dearly by all who knew her...to her children I am so sorry for passing...Ron

Dear Denise, Danny, and Walter-your Mom was certainly a gift to so many people! I am so sorry for your loss. Lois and I worked together for many years at GR Saunders. Lois’ big heart was always in the right place-with the children she worked with everyday. She cared for each and everyone of them as if they were her own. I remember her for her kindness to those she worked with, big and small! She was so dependable and her common sense approach was appreciated! I was always happy to see her walk in everyday to our room with her big smile! May your memories of your Mom help you through this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Denise, Danny, Walter and family: I was so sorry to learn of Lois's recent illness and then her passing. I have nothing but the happiest memories of Lois from so many years ago, whether it was at the baseball fields or the hockey rinks or the schools or every other corner of Pictou County. She was always there with her huge smile, her friendly greeting, her stories and tales, and her heart of gold. I am so glad that I knew her, for she made me and everyone around her enjoy life just a little bit more. I wish I could be there in person to say goodbye to this fine lady, and to extend personal condolences to each of you. Please know that I am thinking of you and wishing you all the best at this difficult time.

Dear Walter, Danny, Denise and family, I worked with your mom for more than ten years at G.R. Saunders in Stellarton. As a teacher I was always thrilled when Lois was assigned to work with students in my class. She was always so pleasant, efficient and sensible but above all else kind. Your mom had a huge heart and she loved those little children in her care. It didn’t matter who they were or what challenges they presented, Lois treated them all with respect and they in turn loved and respected her. I’ll always remember her huge smile, her laugh and her sense of humour. My heart goes out to all of you at this time. Your mom was so proud of her children and grandchildren and often spoke of you during our time working together. Sending my sincere condolences. Liz Collier
