Obituary of Albert Frederick Horton

NEW GLASGOW - Albert Frederick Horton, 93, New Glasgow formally of England, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, surrounded by his family. Born in London, England, he was a son of the late Percy and Mabel (Smith) Horton. Albert served with the Royal Air Force as a flight engineer during the Second World War. Following the war he was employed with the Greater London Council as a heating and ventilation inspector. After retirement, he and his late wife, Mary, moved to Canada in 1989. Albert was a passionate defender against the repression and abuse of children, often contributing to the financial welfare of children in third world countries. Surviving are daughters, Wendy (Clay) Schkade, San Angelo, Texas; Jane Rink, New Glasgow; Helen Horton, England; son, Harry (Vikki) Horton, England; grandchildren, Laura, Rachael, Christopher, Spencer, Amy, Michael, Deanna and Megan; great-grandchildren, Crimson, Tyler, and Drew; great, great-grandchildren Lavinia and Kenzo; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2010. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev.
