Obituary of Normintreal Michelle Paris
PARIS, Normentreal Michelle “Minty”, 94, of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Skinner) Jewell. Minty worked at Bagnel’s Laundry before retiring from Pictou County Homemakers. She was a member of Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow where she served on the Finance Committee, Ladies Auxiliary, Social Committee and the Volunteer Hospital Visitations. Minty was also an honorary member of the Men’s Brotherhood.
Minty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles “Ian”, New Glasgow; daughter, Ida Woo Shue, Halifax; sons, Ruben “Ted” (Kelly), London, ON; Charles (Joanne), Toronto; Dale (Sandy), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Kelli, Theresa, Lisa, Victoria, Melanie, Ryan, Sarah; great grandchildren, Aidan, Isiah, Isla Minty, Jaylen; sister, Sweedlyn Cromwell, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Florence, Toronto; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by brothers, Filmore, Henderson, Hector, Coleman, Francis; sisters, Ida, Violet, Abullias, Thelma.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, August 16th in P & K MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17th in First Presbyterin Church, New Glasgow. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery.
