Obituary of David Angus Graham
NEW GLASGOW – David Angus Graham, 61, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 11, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late John Daniel and Mary Margaret (MacDonald) Graham. Family life was David’s priority. He was a devoted and loving husband of 34 years to Denise Mary (MacPherson) Graham. He was a loving father to daughters, Rachel Catherine (Allen) MacKenzie and Kathleen Marie (Colby) Patterson, and son, Scott Francis Graham, New Glasgow. He was an adoring grandfather to William Roderick MacKenzie. David was a caring brother to sisters, Anne-Marie (Paul) Ellis, Ottawa, Ont.; Janice Graham-Migel (Paul Migel), Halifax; brothers, Brian Graham, Halifax; Russell (Renata) Graham, Chester. He was a fond nephew of Kathleen MacDonald, Bedford. He treasured his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by many family members.
He was a graduate of St. Mary’s University, Halifax (B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed.). David thoroughly enjoyed his 35-year teaching career, having taught at the former East Pictou Rural High School, Sutherlands River and North Nova Education Centre, New Glasgow. His open-minded approach to teaching won him respect from students and colleagues alike. David loved his cat, Tugger and was kind to all animals. For David, “Life has changed; not ended!”
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 15 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 16 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow with Father Thomas A. MacNeil presiding. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
