Obituary of Charles Roy MacDonald
ARDNESS – Charles Roy MacDonald, 78, Ardness, passed away January 1, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late John Angus “Jack” and Greta (Cheverie) MacDonald. Roy began his career operating heavy equipment in Seven Island’s, QC. He was a Heavy-Duty Mechanic and was the owner and operator of Ardness Hydraulics Inc. He retired from Kimberley Clark in 2004. After retirement he worked as a mechanic at Leo Roberts Inc, in Fort McMurray for three winters.
Surviving are his wife Jo-Ann; daughter, Nancy MacDonald (Alex MacPherson), Salem; sons, John “Jack” (Angie), Arisaig, Kyle James, Antigonish; grandchildren, Maggi; Adam; Alex; and Kieran; brother Alvin (Marsha), The Ponds.
Roy is predeceased by daughters, Karen Lynn, and Sherian Eileen in infancy; brother, William in infancy.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 3rd, in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, January 4th, in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore, with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bailey’s Brook, at a later date.
