Obituary of Kareen Loretta Burns
NEW GLAGOW – Kareen Loretta Burns, 78, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Henry and Mary Alice (Dwyer) MacKay. Kareen was an Associate Member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Normandy Branch 34, New Glasgow, where she had been an active member for many years. She was an avid dart player, playing in the Branch 34 Mix Dart League. Kareen was resilient lady who always sought the best for her family and any child in need. She possessed great courage, no matter the situation and always made the best of everything.
Surviving are sons, Arthur (Stephanie), Trenton; James, New Glasgow; Dennis (Marie), Donnie, Toronto, Ont.; Scott, New Glasgow; Kurl (Claudette), Bowmansville, Ont.; daughter, Andrea, Toronto; grandchildren, Arthur, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Taylor, Robyn, Josh, Jessie, Jenna, Jared, Ryleigh, Josh and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Abigayle, Acelynn, Aurora, Gus, Eli, Keshaiah, Azariah, Adonijah and Luca; sisters, Cavell Michaud, New Glasgow; Donna Huggan, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Arthur Dean; sisters, Theresa MacKay in infancy and Mary Parker; brothers, Artie, Buddy and Ronald MacKay.
The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
